Hey, I’m Spencer, a freelancer in Film & TV production, based in Brooklyn, NY.
After studying cinematography at New York University, I found my niche working primarily as a Gaffer & Key Grip on an array of projects around NYC. Some of these work credits have included television series such as Showtime’s “Couples Therapy”, segments for Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and PBS’s “Sesame Street”, as well as feature films like Universal Pictures’ “The Adults” and the HBO Documentary“38 at the Garden”.
Additionally I’ve done the lighting design on an assortment of commercial projects for clients like BabylissPRO, Amazon Music, DL1961, Fontaine, Bevel, Vox, and Eventbrite.
I’ve also assisted on photo & video editorials for publications like NY Times Cooking, shot music videos in Kenya with director Chebeni Wabuyele, and assisted in teaching Introductory Filmmaking courses at Columbia University and the School of Visual Arts.
Outside of production, I’m interested in film programming and preservation as it relates to the exploration of under-represented, self-taught, and regional artists whose work may be difficult to access. You can check out a little more on that over here.
Otherwise you might find me shooting hoops, doing some birding at Prospect Park, or digging through the bins at about any record store.
Feel free to reach out and say hello!
